Refining your profile statement

Now that you have considered the things you enjoy doing and the things that you are good at, let’s just take a moment…

Looking back at your profile statement, how many of your skills and strengths appear here?

Ideally, you want to make sure the things which are essential to you, feature prominently within your profile statement. Otherwise, you may be at risk of applying for and potentially accepting roles that are not a good fit for you. This may leave you feeling drained and dissatisfied.

Take some time now to review your list, thinking about which of these really matter to you.

  • Which are the ones you could not do without?
  • How do they fit with the roles for which you are applying?

If you find there are not many, or you have different things, then take some time now to adapt this accordingly.
